LENESUM ETHIOPIA HOSTING WEHABESHA FROM 29 APRIL – 04 MAY , 2020
Lenesum is a volunteer group that was formed after the rampant rise and spread of the COVID 19 to the world and to our country. Currently working with volunteers of varies age groups to meet the charities mission. Our mission is attempting to tackle the disruption that has come to being as a result of COVID 19 pandemic with regards to food, sanitary products and water containers especially to those who are less fortunate and unable to afford those items in the first place. Not to mention after the massive rise in expense of the items after the outbreak. In addition we have also made it their mission to spread awareness about the current pandemic starting form measures one has to take to protect oneself and family; as certain parts of society are still not equipped with enough if any information about COVID 19.
Since setting out the project, we have been able to reach out a total of 1500 individuals in different parts of the city and focusing on those labeled Poorest of the poor, People with disabilities and seeing how much some particular patients are at a higher risk for the pandemic due to already lowered immunity, we have also donated to Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and their attendants in an oncology center under Addis Ababa University.
With current rise in the number smart phone users we have developed ‘Lenesum app’ which is informative about the COVID19 with regards to symptoms, transmission and measures one can take to protect oneself as well as timely updates on the number of cases in our country and various other general updates as released by the WHO/CDC and local news channels.
